Kim Kardashian West thought she would die during her Paris robbery ordeal in 2016.
The 39-year-old reality star was restrained and held at gunpoint during a robbery which saw thieves steal over $10 million in jewellery whilst staying in a hotel in Paris, France, four years ago.
And now, Kim has recalled the horrific ordeal during an appearance on David Letterman’s Netflix series, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman’, where she admitted to feeling “immediate panic” when she heard footsteps “stomping up the stairs” to her hotel room.
Once inside the room, the intruders “grabbed” Kim – who was only wearing a bathrobe at the time – and the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star admitted she thought she would be sexually assaulted.
She said: “I was like, ‘OK, this is the time I’m gonna get raped. Like deal, this is gonna happen, just prepare yourself.’
“So, I did and then – I don’t know why I’m crying, I’ve talked about this before – and then he tied me up with handcuffs and zipties and then duct tape and duct-taped my mouth and my eyes.”
Robbers then pointed a gun at her, and Kim began to fear for her life.
At the time of the ordeal, Kim’s sister Kourtney Kardashian was out in Paris with the only bodyguard they had with them, and the SKIMS founder was terrified her older sister could come back to the hotel to find her dead.
She explained: “I kept on thinking about Kourtney, I kept on thinking, like, she’s gonna come home and I’m gonna be dead in the room and she’s gonna be traumatised for the rest of her life.”
Following the robbery, Kim said she was left “really paranoid” for about a year, and her home was kitted out with “half a dozen” security guards.
But Kim’s life eventually started to return to normal, especially after the arrest of the robbers, when Kim discovered they had been following her for two years prior to the Paris attack.
She told David Letterman: “I didn’t know that they had someone at the elevators, someone at the front, someone that moved the camera, someone that broke the door, someone in the getaway car.
“There was a whole team of people that had planned this.”

Pump the brakes. Celebrities who had planned on tying the knot in early 2020 had to make an unexpected change of plans due to the coronavirus pandemic. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom had their sights set on a destination wedding in April but the widespread outbreak, which has totaled more than 1 million cases worldwide, forced them to postpone their plans. The “Roar” singer, 35, and Bloom, 43, announced their engagement in February 2019. The pair had originally scheduled their nuptials for December 2019. However, a source told Us Weekly in February that they changed their wedding plans “due to the location they want.” Taraji P. Henson and her fiancé, Kelvin Hayden, are another couple whose wedding has been postponed more than once. The Coffee & Kream star, 49, first moved her wedding date from April to June to avoid rainy weather. She told Extra on March 31 that the celebration is pushed back one more month due to the quarantine. “It’s probably going to be more like July,” Henson said at the time. “We have to see what this will be like at the other end. Dennis Quaid and his fiancée, Laura Savoie, were excited to exchange vows on April 4 at his friend Craig T. Nelson‘s house in Kauai, Hawaii — the same state where the Parent Trap star popped the question to the PhD student. Quaid, 66, told Us on April 3 that it was “a little disappointing” for them to miss their wedding but said he and Savoie celebrate their upcoming marriage “every day.” While some couples have made definite decisions to change their wedding plans, others’ plans are still up in the air. Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder joked that preparing for a wedding in uncertain times is hard. The Next Level Basic author, 31, and her fiancé, Beau Clark, are hoping to tie the knot in October in Italy. The country has been hit hard by the coronavirus with more than 100,000 confirmed cases and more than 18,000 deaths. “So planning a wedding that may be nonexistent is fun,” the reality star tweeted on March 26. “Def recommend.” Scroll down to see the list of couples who’ve postponed their weddings due to coronavirus.
Dressing up their darlings! Drake, Kylie Jenner and more celebrity parents have showed off their kids’ adorable costumes during the fall 2020 season. The rapper’s 3-year-old son, Adonis, chose to rock an astronaut outfit. The little one’s mom, Sophie Brussaux, shared a photo of the toddler in the white jumpsuit and gold headpiece while celebrating his birthday on October 11. “Joyeux anniversaire mon amoureux,” the French artist, 31, captioned an Instagram slideshow at the time. “Three years ago, I was finally meeting you for the first time, after a long 24-hr labor. I’m so proud of the little man you’re becoming, I love you more than life. The world is YOURS! We did that @champagnepapi.” As for Jenner, 23, the Kylie Cosmetics creator’s 2-year-old daughter, Stormi, wore a princess gown and matching tiara while painting pumpkins with her aunt Khloé Kardashian and her cousins on October 10. As for Khloé’s daughter, True, she wore cat ears. “Collecting Memories With My Favorite People,” the Strong Looks Better Naked author, 36, captioned an Instagram slideshow. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s youngest daughter, Chicago, 2, and son, Psalm, 17 months, joined in on the fall fun, alongside Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s daughter, Dream, 3. Days before the crafting session, the Kylie Skin creator revealed that Stormi has another costume planned. Jenner and her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Travis Scott, will match her. “You’re going to be the purple Minion, and me and Daddy are going to be the yellow Minions,” the makeup mogul said in an October 5 video while helping her daughter decorate cookies with frosting and sprinkles. The mother-daughter pair wore matching orange Charlie Brown-patterned pajamas while baking. When Stormi said that she was going to be “a pumpkin” instead, Jenner joked that the toddler changes her mind “every day.” Keep scrolling to see more celebrities’ kids costumes, including Tori Roloff and Zach Roloff’s 3-year-old son, Jackson.
